WHAT SHOULD REPLACE THE BLOCKBUSTER STORE AFTER IT CLOSES?
Selby Ave. residents circulate a questionnaire

Blockbuster will close its Overland Ave. store on the southwest corner of National Place, and two Selby Ave. residents want to make sure no replacement is put there that would ruin the neighborhood.

So Caroline Alley and Barbara Tell are circulating a questionnaire to find out what residents want. We present a copy below (courtesy of Westside Village Civic Assn. director Ken Alpern):

LOCAL RESIDENTS AND HOMEOWNERS INPUT NEEDED

The property currently occupied by Blockbuster Video, at the southwest corner of Overland and National is up for lease.  The real estate office has been contacted by a representative of the Westside Village Civic Association.  The office has said they would consider the opinions of the neighborhood for the type of tenant or tenants (up to three) that will go into this property.   A committee is being formed to provide this input.  We want to make it clear to them that businesses that will be frequented and, more importantly, supported by the neighborhood will be most successful.

So, please respond to the questions below.  The input is needed ASAP.   Either return your completed questionnaire now, or complete it and put in the mailbox at 3200 Selby (corner of Selby and Queensland).

Thank you for your input.
