Thirty-first meeting of the Council and its
REPRESENTATIVE ASSEMBLY
Wednesday, April 5, 2007
IMAN Center, 4636 Motor Ave., Palms, California, U.S.A.

1. Call to order. In the absence of Facilitator Matt Gaspar, Vice President Todd Robinson called the meeting to order at 7:20 p.m.

2. A quorum was established, nine members being present:

4. Reports by our governmental representatives or their deputies.

5. Report to community by the President (Pauline Stout). “Big Sunday.” Law enforcement National Night Out. Mar Vista reaction to research project in Westside Village. Request to city attorney for opinion on Northeast Boundary issue. Placing of community banners.April Fool e-mail message No action.

6. Treasurer: Report (LaMoy). Report Attached..

7. Committee reports.

A. Projects (Stout). (1) Request from Jason Buchalter for allocation of funds for Charnock Road Elementary School Big Sunday event. Stout moved the PNC allocate up to $2,000 to Charnock Road Elementary School for the Big Sunday volunteer project as an outreach item. Seconded. Carried by voice vote.

(2) Taste of Palms, a celebration featuring foods from Palms restaurants (La Moy). No action. (3) Agenda for next meeting of committee. No action.

B. Transportation and Road Works (Prochazka). (1) Motion: The PNC requests the Exposition Corridor Transit Project Phase II to study locating a station in Palms behind the Price Self Storage facility on 10151 National Blvd. between Palms and Motor. This location would serve the Blue Bus #12 and the Culver City bus #3. Seconded and carried by a voice vote.

C. Outreach (Bruhwiler): Marina Gonzalez presented information on the Woodbine Street Block Party on April 28. General consent given that the Outreach Committee chair can spend funds for the project as long as it is within the committee’s budget.

D. Land-use and Development (Robinson): No report.

E. Ad hoc election (Stout). By voice vote approval was given that the election procedures are adopted with a change in “Deadline for Candidate Write-in Applications” from 6/11/2007 to 6/23/2007. By general consent authority was granted to the Elections Committee chair to make changes if necessary. General agreement given that the presentation and discussion held this evening serves as the required election information meeting. Stephen Box was introduced as the Independent Election Administrator.

8. Secretarial report (Garrigues) Voice vote to approve the minutes for the meeting of March 7, 2007.

9.  Assembly business. None.
