| Many years ago a big cookie factory — or a bakery — was built on the old Railroad Depot grounds just north of Exposition Blvd. It later became a warehouse and then a furniture store. On the property now is a big storage facility, conveniently situated for the use of the many apartment dwellers in Palms.
Behind the old factory building was this commercial incinerator, pre-smog vintage, and hardly used. It was made of used brick, one of them (just above, at right) faintly showing the name of the company that made it.
The incinerator was destroyed when the factory was leveled in early 2004.
