'Concept Plan' limitation is blocked
|
| A motion on Sept. 9 to remove Westside Village from any sort of Mar Vista Community Council "concept plan" or "master plan" was ruled out of order by the chair of the council's Urban Planning Committee.
The ruling was made at the first meeting of that committee ever held in the Village, an area east of the 405 that was included in the MVCC area some two years ago. The motion, which Chair Maritza Przekop said it had not been properly "agendized" for the September meeting, will be placed on the agenda for October, she ruled. The motion states: Whereas, the Westside Village community considers itself separate and distinct from Mar Vista and is in fact geographically separated from Mar Vista by the 405 Freeway, Westside Village was made a part of the Mar Vista Community Council when it was organized. Some Village Stakeholders are campaigning to overturn that decision. They want to join with Palms in a joint neighborhood council instead. At the Sept. 14 Board meeting, Przekop said she reserved the right to rule the motion out of order if it is brought up again. |
